Even My White Shirt Is Black
Paul J Rogers
Released 14 January 2022
As a long-time environmentalist, this is my third release about climate change.
This single is a scathing critique of insatiable greed and wanton destruction of the Earth by the fossil fuel industry. The song title is a reference to air pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuels.
Verse one speaks to the need for Earth Justice, and the inalienable rights of nature. Verse two is about the scarcity of resources like food and water. And finally, verse three is about the greed of the energy barons.
The chorus is about the challenge of sense-making in an era of disinformation and the draconian silencing of dissent.
We have had at least 35 years of scientific evidence warning us that the fossil fuel industry was cooking the planet. The window to save humanity and the 8 billion species we share the Earth with is rapidly closing.
Speak up. Act Now.
